Deposit (Rs.) ______Number of depositor____Cumulative Frequency

0-10 _________________1071 _______________ 1071

10-20 _______________1245_________________2316

20-30 _______________ 150 ________________2466

30-40 ________________171________________2637

40-50 ________________131________________2768

50-60 ______________ 8_________________2776

To find median class:

Total number of depositor n = 2776

n/2 = 2776/2 = 1388

The class having nearby CF is the median class = 10-20

Median = l+  (\frac{n/2 -cf}{f} ) h

l = lower limit of median class = 10

h = class size = 10

cf = CF of class interval preceding the median class = 1071

f = frequency of median class = 1245

n= 2776

Median = 10+  (\frac{1388-1071{1245} ) 10

Median = 10+ 3170/1245

= 10+ 2.54

= 12.54

Median of the given data is 12.456 k rupees

or 12.456 ×1000 (∴ rupees are in thousand)

= 12546.18 Rupees

Median = 12546.18 Rupees

Hope it helps you.
