the following is a picture of a square chess board of side 40 cm find the total area of all white squares on the chess board​

Answer-

800 cm²

solution-

the number of white and black squares is equal in the chess board

so the total area of white squares is equal to total area of chess board ÷ 2

total area of chess board = side² = 40²

= 1600cm²

so area of white squares= 1600/2 = 800cm²
