Given data = 3, 6, 7, 10, x, x+4, 19, 20, 25,28
no,of observations = 10(even)
Therefore median = average of n/2th term and (n/2)+1 th term
⇒(10/2)th term + [(10/2) + 1] th term whole divided by 2
⇒5th + 6th whole divided by 2
⇒(x + x+4)/2 = (2x +4)/2 Given as the median is 13
∴(2x+4)/2= 13
⇒2x +4 = 13×2
⇒2x = 26 -4
⇒2x = 22
⇒x = 22/2 = 11
