The pie chart is a visual representation of the expenses of the Jones family. The maximum expenditure is on food, accounting for 30% of all expenses. Next come rent at 20% and entertainment at 10%. Transport and clothing are both at 8 percent each. The family pays 7% tax. The remaining 5% is clubbed together under the heading of miscellaneous expenses.  

 

Their expenditure pattern clearly indicates that the family is considerably fond of food. In fact they spend more on food than on rent. Entertainment is also an important category for them. They are not big shoppers or travellers. Further, the least expense is on taxes.
