Given: A raw data

$2.99, $3.09, $2.99, $3.19, $2.89, $2.89, $2.99 $3.09, $3.29, $3.19, $3.09

To Find : How many modes are there in the sample

options are

a) 1

b) 2

c) 3

d) 4

Solution :

Given sample is  $2.99, $3.09, $2.99, $3.19, $2.89, $2.89, $2.99 $3.09, $3.29, $3.19, $3.09

& Mode is the number that appears most frequently in a data set.

Firstly, we'll arrange data in ascending or descending form

Now, sample is :-

$2.89, $2.89, $2.99, $2.99, $2.99, $3.09, $3.09 $3.09, $3.19, $3.19, $3.29

Clearly , Most occurring no.s are  $2.99 & $3.09 i.e. they both occur 3 times

Hence, given sample has 2 modes

So, Option b is correct
