- That box is too heavy to lift.
When we are using "to" before the main verb of the sentence then the usage of "too" (before adjective) instead of "very is more appropriate.
- I would sing if you play the piano.
In the given sentence, a sort of condition giving is taking place. So the usage of "if" as linker is appropriate in this case. (simpler form of the sentence by correcting the position of the linker)
- He is an honourable man.
In some special cases we use "an" article before the words which starts with a consonant. And, honourable is one of those exceptions. (The consonant remains silent and acts as a vowel.)
- He did nothing but laughed.
The first verb is in the past form and that's why the second verb will be also in the past form too.
