Melting point is the transition temperature from solid to liquid and boiling point is the transition temperature from liquid to gas. From the diagram , the substance D has melting point at −40oC. So the substance D is a solid at −40oC. The boiling point of substances A and B  is below the temperature 120oC. So , the substances A and B are gases at 120oC.
