To Find : Compared with resting, by how many times the volume of air exchanged per minute was  increased during exercise.​

Solution:

       Volume of air inhaled per breath   No. of breaths per minute

Resting          400                                            10

Exercising     1000                                           40

During Rest  Volume of air inhaled = 400 x 100 = 4000

During Exercise  Volume of air inhaled = 1000 x 40 = 40000

Number of times the volume of air exchanged per minute was

increased during exercise.​ = 40000/4000  = 10

10 times  the volume of air exchanged per minute was  increased during exercise.​
