the following terms are arranged in ascending order 10,13,14,16,x+2,x+4,27,30,33,38. If median of terms be 25 .Then find the value of X.

As there are 10 observations,

Median =   \frac{ \frac{n}{2}+  \frac{n+2}{2}  }{2}

Median =  \frac{5th observation+ 6th observation}{2}

Median =  \frac{x+2+ x+4}{2}


25=   \frac{2x+6}{2}


25*2 = 2x +6 

50 = 2x +6

50 - 6 =2x

44 = 2x 

44/2 =x 

22 = x
