Ways to minimize the spherical aberration:

By using stops i.e. by placing an opaque sheet with a hole, so that light is focused on the center of the lens and the aperture is reduced. By using a pair of convex lenses that are placed apart from each other in a distance equal to difference in their focal lengths.
