This is a story about a tortoise and two cranes.

Tortoise and the two cranes were very good friends, they were living happily near a river.

Tortoise was very talkative and impulsive, while the cranes were very calm and stable.One year, it did not rain; all the rivers and ponds got dried. Cranes and the tortoise were worried, as their river water was also declining day by day.

The two cranes and the tortoise discussed about the problem and tried to find some solution.

“We can search some other river, which has more water”; one crane suggested.

Yes that’s a good idea lets search for another river and move to that place, the other crane and the tortoise said.

As Tortoise was unable to fly, so they decided that both the cranes will find the river. Once they find the suitable river then they will take the tortoise to that place.

Soon the cranes found a river full of water, so as per the plan they went back to bring the tortoise.

Now for them the next challenge was to take the tortoise to another river.

After much discussion, they decided to carry the tortoise using a thick stick.

You can hold the stick with your mouth and we will hold the stick from its ends, the cranes told the tortoise.

What a nice idea, I will get a chance to fly. It will be too much fun, I am so excited, the tortoise said excitedly.

“But don’t open your mouth to talk while flying, otherwise you will fall down”, the cranes advised the tortoise.

“Oh, don’t worry, I know; the tortoise replied. Next morning, the cranes took a thick stick and hold its end with their beak, and then they asked the tortoise to hold the stick at the middle with his mouth.

The tortoise was very excited for his first flying experience; he came quickly and holds the thick stick with his mouth.

Furrrrrrrr…. the cranes flew high up in the air with the tortoise.

The tortoise was enjoying his first flying; he was looking up and down.

When they were about to reach to another river, the tortoise saw the river from the height. He got very excited and was about to say something's

But the poor tortoise lost the grip of the stick and fell down on the land.

The two cranes were unable to save the tortoise.They were sad for their friend.

Moral of the story: We should always pay attention to our true friend’s advice. Also we should not act impulsive
