Let WA=10m be the length of the ladder and WL=xcm be the height of the wall . As wall WL=xm is vertically up so by Pythagoras theorem.  

In right angled triangle WLA

(10)^2 = (8)^2 + (x)^2

100 = 64 + x^2

100- 64 = x^2

36 = x^2

⇒x=6

Hence , the height of the point on the wall where the top of the ladder reaches is 6m.
