The force acting on a particle makes an angle of 60 with the positive x - axis. If the magnitude of the
force is 10 N what are its x and y-componerts?​

Explanation:

The x axis component of the given force on the particle is given by the formula:      Fx = F Cos Ф

and Y axis component is given by  Fy = F SinФ

Where F = 10 N  given.

         Ф = angle with x axis = 60°.

So the components are respectively:   10 Cos 60° and 10 Sin 60°  Newtons.

ie.,   5 N  , and 5√3 / 2  Newtons.
