The force acting on a rectangular block is 75N. The length of the block is 15cm and its breadth is 5 cm. Calculate pressure on its base.

We know, Pressure(P) = Force(F)/Area(A).
Here, F = 75 N. 
          A = (15×5) = 75 sq cm = 75×10⁻⁴ sq m.
⇒ P = F/A = (75 ÷ (75×10⁻⁴ )) = 1×10⁴ Nm⁻².(Ans.)
