Given : A proton is placed in an electric field 4 × 10⁴ N/C directed vertically upward.

To find : The force experienced by the proton.

solution : we know, the electric force experienced by charge q in an electric field E is given by, F = qE

here q = charge on proton = 1.6 × 10^-19 C

E = 4 × 10⁴ N/C

so, F = 1.6 × 10^-19 C × 4 × 10⁴ N/C

= 6.4 × 10^-15 N

Therefore the force experienced by the proton is 6.4 × 10^-15 N

Given:

Placed proton,

E = 4\times 10^4 N/C^{-1}

Charge,

q = 1.6\times 10^{-19} \ C

To Find:

Force experienced by a proton = ?

Solution:

As we know,

⇒  F = qE

On putting the estimated values, we get

⇒      =1.6\times 10^{-19}\times 4\times 10^4

⇒      =6.4\times 10^{-15} \ N

So that the force will be "6.4 × 10⁻¹⁵ N".
