Given:

Gravitational attraction force between two bodies at a certain separation is 10 N.

To find:

New force of attraction is the distance between them is halved.

Calculation:

Initial Case:

 force =  \dfrac{G(m1)(m2)}{ {d}^{2} }

 =  >   \dfrac{G(m1)(m2)}{ {d}^{2} }  = 10

Final case :

New distance distance of separation be d/2.

 force =  \dfrac{G(m1)(m2)}{ {( \frac{d}{2} )}^{2} }

 =  >  force =4 \times  \bigg \{  \dfrac{G(m1)(m2)}{ {d}^{2} }  \bigg \}

 =  >  force =4 \times  \bigg \{10 \bigg \}

 =  >  force =40 \: N

So new gravitational force of attraction will be 40 N.

After reducing the the separation to half of its initial distance, the gravitational force becomes 4 times the initial force.
