The force of friction is maximum when the surface is on the point of motion.

  • There are two friction: Kinetic friction and static friction.

Static friction acts when the body is at rest and Kinetic friction acts when

        the body is in motion.

  • The coefficient of static friction is slightly more than the kinetic friction.
  • When the body is just about to move the frictional force becomes maximum.
