Answer:

Energy stored by capacitor is given by,

E = 1/2∗C∗V∗VJoules.

Now if you want to maximize this energy you will have to maximize the value of V.

Assuming that you already have fixed a battery of given voltage and capacitors of given capacitances the following arrangements in circuit are posiible. They are,

1 Series Combination : When capacitances are connected in series their equivalent is given by

1/Ceq = (1/C1) + (1/C2) + …… + (1/Cn) Farad

In this case the total capacitance is lower than the least value. The voltage drop across each capacitor will be inversely proportional to its capacitance. But the total drops across all the capacitors when summed up will be equal to the battery voltage.

2 Parallel Combination : In this case the total capacitance is given by

Ceq = C1+C2+C3+……+Cn Farad

The total capacitance is thus greater than the greatest value. The voltage drop across each capacitor is the supply voltage only.

From above given methods we can decide that for the energy to be maximum, the voltage across each capacitor should be maximum which happens in second case as the total battery voltage is reflected across each capacitor and not in the first case where the voltage drops are unequal.

So as far as i know if you want to store the maximum energy in each capacitor you should connect these three capacitors in Parallel.

Hope this helps. Thank You !!
