The forewheel of a carriage makes 6 revolutions more than the rearwheel in going 120m. If the diameter of the forewheel be increased by ¼ its present diameter and the diameter of the rarewheel be increased by 1/5 of its present diameter, then the forewheel makes 4 revolutions more than the rearwheel in going the same distance. Find the circumference of each wheel of the carriage

Step-by-step explanation:

ANSWER

→ fore whel makes to rordution more than are wheel distance converted =120 m

Let rd1 be diameter of five wheel and rd2 be diameter of area wheel then

πd1

120

=

πd2

120

+10......(1)

later diameter of five wheel is increased by 1/4

π(

4

5

d1)

120

=

πd2

120

+6

πd1

96

=

πd2

120

+6........(2)

substitude (1) in (2)

πd1

96

=

πd1

120

−10+6

πd1

120

πd1

96

=4

⇒ πd1=6 circumference of for wheel

Substuting πd1 in (3)

we get πd2=12 rase wheel.
