The formula for the volume of a square pyramid is V=(b^2 h) divided by 3, where b is the length of one side and h is the height of the pyramid. Find the length of a side of the base of a square pyramid that has a height of 3 inches and a volume of 196 cubic inches.

According to question ,

Volume = 1/3 × ( b²h )

and height = h = 3

=> Volume = 196 cubic inches

=> 1/3 × b² × 3 = 196

=> b² = 196

=> b = length of one side = √196 = + 14 inches

Therefore the answer is 14 inches
