Answer:

The formula of a metal is MCl2 => valency of M is 2+

Therefore formula of its sulphate is MSO 4. (Valency of SO 4 is 2-)

Its Zincate is MZnO 2. (Valency of ZnO 2 is 2-)

It's hydroxide it M(OH) 2. (Valency of OH is 1-)

It's that simple really....

Hope this helped!

MSO4 (Sulphate), MZnO2 (ZINCATE)  M(OH)2 ( HYDROXIDE)

Explanation:

The formula MCl2 shows that one atom of metal M reacted with 2 atoms of Cl

Thus M has valency of +2

Formula for the sulphate will be

MSO4

since metal M has +2 valency

Sulphate has SO4^2-  valency

Formula for zincate will be

MZnO2 as zincate has valency of -2.

Zincate is Zn(OH)4^2-

Formula for hydroxide wiil be

M(OH)2

Because magnesium has +2 valency and hydroxide has one minus as OH-
