Given : The formula that describes an object’s motion is given by S=ut+(1/2)at², where S is the distance traveled, u is the initial velocity, a is the acceleration, and t is the time.

To Find : Which equation represents a in terms of the other variables?

A. a=2s-2u/t

B. a=2s+2u/t

C. 2s-2ut/t^2

D. a=2s+2ut/t^2

Solution :

S=ut+(1/2)at²,

multiplying both sides by 2

=> 2S =  2ut  + at²

Subtracting 2ut from both sides

=> 2S - 2ut  = at²

Dividing both sides by t²

=> (2S - 2ut)/t² = a

interchanging side

=> a =  (2S - 2ut)/t²

a=\dfrac{2S-2ut}{t^2}

is the correct option
