Given :
Four sides of quadrilateral are,
(x+4), (2x-2), (3x-8) and (40-5x)

\bf{Perimeter\: of \:quadrilateral = sum \:of\: all\: four \:sides. }

So,
Perimeter of quadrilateral is,

= (x+4) + (2x-2) + (3x-8) + (40-5x)

= x + 2x + 3x - 5x + 4 - 2 - 8 + 40

= 6x - 5x + 4 + 40 - 10

= x + 44 - 10

= x + 34

Hence, the perimeter of the quadrilateral is (x +34).
