Being a compressed chemical composition, once the perfume or cologne is sprayed into the air, it coverts into a gas and its particles are mixed with other air particles which very quickly circulate the room. It is this tendency of gases to quickly occupy any volume or space that is called diffusion.

Answer:
We know that molecules of gases in the air are at constant motion. So the particle travels from higher concentration level to lower concentration level and spreads across the room due to which the odour can be detected from the other side of the room. This process is called diffusion.
