Given,

The length of one side of the frame = 10 inches

The thickness of the frame = ⅜ inches

To find,

The measurement of the each side of the picture. (excluding frame)

Solution,

First of all,the frame is square in shape. So,the length of the frame and the picture will be equal in four sides.

Now,

Length of the one side of the frame = Length of one side of the picture + (2× Thickness of the frame)

Length of one side of the picture = Length of the one side of the frame - (2× Thickness of the frame)

Length of one side of the picture = 10 - ( 2 × ⅜) [ By putting the values.]

= 10 - ¾

= 37/4

= 4⅑ inches

Hence,the length of each side of the picture is 4⅑ inches.
