requency,                  v = 2 kHz                     = 2000 Hz
Wavelength,                        λ = 35 cm                           = 0.35 m
Speed,            V = wavelength x Frequency                      V = λ x v              = 0.35 m x 2000 Hz             = 700 m/s
Time taken by the wave to travel distance of 1.5 km is                                   t = d/v                                      = (1.5 x 1000 m) / 700 ms-^1                                      = 15/7 s  = 2.1 s
Hence sound will take 2.1 s to travel a distance of 1.5 km.

The time taken by the wave to travel a distance of 1.5 km is 2.14 seconds.

Explanation:

Frequency of a wave, f = 2 kHz

Wavelength, \lambda=0.35\ m

If v is the speed of the wave. The speed of wave in terms of frequency and wavelength is given by :

v=f\times \lambda\\\\v=2\times 10^3\times 0.35\\\\v=700\ m/s

If t is the time it will take to travel a distance of 1.5 km. Speed is also given by total distance divided by total time taken. So,

t=\dfrac{d}{v}\\\\t=\dfrac{1.5\times 10^3}{700}\\\\t=2.14\ s

So, the time taken by the wave to travel a distance of 1.5 km is 2.14 seconds.
