Given details:

Frequency of the recessive allele (q) =0.2

Let the frequency of the dominant allele be ]'p'.

Solution:

We know that, sum of the frequencies of dominant and recessive alleles is unity. (i.e.) p + q = 1.

So, p = 1 -q =  1-0.2 = 0.8

Frequency of the dominant allele = 0.8

In this scenario, there can minimum 2 heterozygous alleles.

= > Heterozygous alleles will be 2pq = 2 * 0.2 * 0.8 = 0.32

Frequency of the heterozygote = 0.32
