Dear Student,

◆ Answer -

n2 = 40 Hz

● Explanation -

# Given -

n1 = 20 Hz

λ1 = 2 cm

λ2 = 1 cm

# Solution -

Velocity of the wave is calculated by -

v = nλ

For two sound waves,

n1.λ1 = n2.λ2

Rearranging -

n2 = n1.λ1/λ2

n2 = 20 × 2 / 1

n2 = 40 Hz

Hence, frequency of another sound wave is 40 Hz.

Thanks dear. Hope this helps you..
