Explanation:

velocity of light wave in a material is

v = vλ _[i]

Refractive index of the material is

μ = c / v _[ii]

where, c is speed of light in vacuum or air

μ = c / vλ_[iii]

Given, v = 2 × 10^14 Hz

λ = 5000 A = 5000 × 10^-10 m,

c = 3 × 10^8 m/s

Hence, from Eq [iii], we get

μ = 3 × 10^8 / ( 2 × 10^14 × 5000 × 10^-10 )

μ = 3.00

The Refractive index of the material will be 3.00 !
