For an oscillating particle, total mechanical energy is represented by the sum of potential energy and kinetic energy of that object.
Potential energy and kinetic energy have their own frequency of oscillation corresponding with the oscillation of the particle.
For Example , the potential energy of the body becomes maximum at the extreme position of oscillation whereas the kinetic energy at the same position goes down to zero.
Similarly , the kinetic energy becomes maximum at the mean position where as the potential energy becomes zero at the mean position.
But all in all , we get to see a constant total mechanical energy all over the the oscillation of the particle.
Since the total mechanical energy does not change with respect to time we can say that its frequency is zero.
