The Frigid Zone lies near the Poles. The climate in the Polar Regions is very cold that is why the area is known as the Frigid Zone. It includes the area around the North Pole and the South Pole. The countries located in the Polar Regions are Alaska, Greenland, Canada, Russia, and Norway in the Arctic region which is in the north. Antarctica lies in the southern region. The North Frigid Zone lies between the North Pole 90 degrees north and the Arctic Circle 66.5 degrees north latitude. It covers 4.12% of the Earth's surface. The South Frigid Zone extends from the South Pole 90 degrees south to the Antarctic Circle 66.5 degrees south latitude. It also covers 4.12% of the Earth's surface.
