The poem "The Frog and the Nightingale" by Vikram Seth is a poem about the frog who croaked every night in the bingle bog and the other creatures hated his voice. The frog is described to be disdainful, irritating and proud. The frog never bothered what other disliked in him but "He croaked awn and aw and awn." The frog used to sing in a loud and unpleasant voice. He sang "To display his heart elation" that is frog sang to express or display his heart's happiness. Being jealous of nightingale's voice he made her sing forcefully all day and night. Due to frog's constant judgments, the nightingale dies in vain.
