In the poem "The Frog and the Nightingale" the frog is portrayed as very cunning and sly. At first he judges about the technique of the Nightingale's song, The frog is behaving extremely superior and in a condescending manner. He is also extremely cunning and is trying to convince her to take training from him. She became a huge success. Creatures from all over came to listen to her singing. Very important creatures like the coot of monte cristo and duck of kent and ladies with tiaras glittering came to listen to her. But the money-minded frog was charging an entrance fee for the Nightingale’s concerts so he was busy selling tickets to each one of them and collecting money from them. Day by day the nightingale grew morose and pale. The continuous nagging and demotivating comments by the frog about the nightingale's singing was the cause of her distress. The frog was very jealous of her voice, Her singing no longer was energetic and inspiring as it was and soon people/animals started losing interest in her singing which enraged the frog and depressed the nightingale furthermore. And one night when frog scolded her to follow the style and puff up her chest in passion, the trembling and scared nightingale followed his instructions and as a result she burst her vein and died. This makes it clear that the frog was cruel and cunning.

THE FROG COULD NOT TOLERATE COMPETITION.HIS GREED AND LUST FOR FAME MADE HIM SHAMELESS AND HE BROUGHT ABOUT THE END OF THE NIGHTINGALE,SO THAT HE COULD RULE THE BACK G AGAIN.
