FSH is called Follicle-stimulating hormone is a gonadotropin, a glycoprotein polypeptide hormone. FSH is synthesized and secreted by the gonadotropic cells of the anterior pituitary gland, and regulates the development, growth, pubertal maturation, and reproductive processes of the body.

Progesterone is an endogenous steroid and progestogen sex hormone involved in the menstrual cycle, pregnancy, and embryogenesis of humans and other species. It belongs to a group of steroid hormones called the progestogens, and is the major progestogen in the body.

The functional relationship between progesterone and FSH:

• Progesterone is the steroid hormone secreted by ovaries and FSH is the follicle-stimulating hormone produced by the pituitary gland it stimulates the growth of the ovarian follicles in the ovary.

• Progesterone and FSH maintained ultrastructural integrity, increases undeveloped follicle activation and further growth of cultured caprine preantral follicles.

• We can use these two hormones in Nitro follicle cultures. In vitro follicle culture is an essential tool for the belief of mechanisms of oocyte growth and differentiation.
