Fundamental Duties

Our Constitution incorporated fundamental duties in Article 51 A under Part TV—A based on the recommendations of Swaran Singh Committee on Constitutional Reforms. At first there were 10 Fundamental Duties inserted through the Constitution 42nd Amendment Act, 1976. Later one mo duty was added through the Constitution Eighty Sixth Amendment Act, 2002 Altogether there eleven fundamental duties in our Constitution. Respecting the Constitution. National Flab and National Anthem, safeguarding public property, abjuring violence, developing scientific temper etc., are some of the fundamental duties. Fundamental duties were added in our Constitution for inculcating responsible behaviour among the citizens.
