The fuse wire or MCB s are not used in a circuit containing electric cells. Why?

Fuse wires or miniature circuit breakers are not required in the small battery operated electrical circuits where the amount of current follow is low and if the circuit breaks there is no risk of fire. But nowadays batttery operated circuits are emloyed for several purposed where the current flow is very high. In that case fuse wires and mcb's are needed.
