The galvanised article is protected against rusting even if zinc coating is broken . Why?

This is because, Zinc is very reactive in nature and it gets oxidized easily, and forms a protective layer. Even when zinc coating is broken down, zinc continues to react and gets oxidized. Thus, the galvanized article is protected.
