In spite of being one of the neighbors of a developed country like USA, why the Amazon basin is not well developed because:There is wide disparity between the climatic conditions of the USA and the Amazon basin.The region offers difficult living conditions owing to hot and humid climateIt is also difficult to travel upon. Going from one place to another here generally involved navigating the river as well. Moreover, until a few years back aircrafts, and helicopters are also used for reaching various places. The vegetation of the USA and the Amazon basin is widely different. The thick rainforests here makes infrastructural development difficult.
