The Ganga-Brahmputra basin is rich in several ways but it cannot compete with the developed. What is the reason behind this ?

Answer:

As we know that mostly developed regions are that where factories are found.

And whatever I know I think there is no factory in ganga Brahmaputra region

and if it is it is not a big and developed factory.

the question from here is that then why there is no industry?

=== As we know that there are some factor which affect the location of industries

and these are:

raw materials

power

labour

transport

market

government policy

coming towards first factor raw materials ,the region is mainly rice and wheat producing regions and as we know that in these regions no large scale agriculture is practised so farmers here produce for their own consumption also and sell few of their produce also it is not a cash crop so industry will not get enough material.

coming toward last factor government policy I think government of hare have not made any beneficial policy for the industrialist 2ho can come here.

Also I think it is fertile land region so industrialist have decided to let it for farming.

And the last thing is that I think there is not much industries which uses rice their raw materials.
