Jute is grown in the Delta region because the soil is very fertile there because the Brahmaputra and Ganges are full of minerals.
The soil conditions in the Ganges delta is suitable for growing jute. Rich loam and silts provide the best composition of soil structure for Jute Production.

Temperatures ranging from 25-30 °C and relative humidity of 70%–90% are favorable for successful cultivation. Jute requires 160-200 cm of rainfall weekly with extra needed during the sowing period.

Jute is mainly grown well with high temperature,heavy rainfall and well drained fertile soil in the flood plains (which is renewed by river foods each year) .that is why, the ganga Delta is eminently suitable for jute production.
