X is PbSO2.... Since it is yellow.

The oxide is PbO. And the equation is PbSO2 (heat in presence of O2 ) forms PbO + SO2

Let us find identify the  yellow powder X

Explanation:

(a)The yellow powder "X"that turns blue litmus red is --> Sulphur powder .

It turns moist litmus paper from blue to red .

(b)The oxide formed by it , when it comes in contact with air is "sulphur dioxide ".

S + O₂--> SO₂

(c)The balanced chemical equation : When it is dissolved in water it forms sulphuric acid because the nature of sulphur dioxide is acidic .

SO₂ + H₂O --> H₂SO₃

                       ( sulphurous acid )
