Given info : The gas inside the tire has a volume of 20.00 L at a pressure of 5.00 atm.

To find : the pressure of the gas if its volume is reduced to 10 L at the same temperature.

solution : at constant temperature,

P₁V₁ = P₂V₂ [ it is also known as Boyle's law ]

here, P₁ = 5 atm , V₁ = 20 L , V₂ = 10 L

so, 5 atm × 20 L = P₂ × 10 L

⇒P₂ = 10 atm

Therefore the pressure of the gas inside the tire will be 10 atm.
