The gas liberated when sodium carbonate reacts with dilute hydrochloric acid is passed through lime water,a white precipitate is formed.but when the same gas is passed through the lime water in exess , precipitate is not visible why?

When dilute hydrochloric acid reacts with sodium hydrogen carbonate, Carbon dioxide gas is liberated. We recognize the presence of carbon dioxide by passing it through lime water which turns milky or a white precipitate of calcium carbonate is formed.
