There is no space between the individual particles, so they cannot pack together. The kinetic-molecular theory explains why gases are more compressible than either liquids or solids. Gases are compressible because most of the volume of a gas is composed of the large amounts ofempty space between the gasparticles.

Heya user ,
Here is your answer !!

The gases are highly............. COMPRESSIBLE ......... due to large vacant spaces between the molecules of a gas .

When pressure is applied , the molecules come closer and compress to occupy a smaller space .

Many times , when temperature is also decreased , the gases liquefy to form liquids .

Hope it helps you !!
