the general electronic configuration of f block is ns²(n-1)d°-¹(n-2)f¹-¹⁴ right? the accommodation of d sub shell is up to 10 electrons but here why it is 0-1?? please explain... I'll surely mark your answer as brainliest if your explaination is good

For eg if we consider this elements configuration as

6s²(5)d°-¹4f¹-¹⁴

Electrons are filled in orbitals according to the aufbaus principle which is the n+l rule

Orbital having the least n+l value is filled first

6s- 6+0=6

5d=5+2=7

4f=4+3=7

Hence 6s Will be filled first then 4f has the least n value as between 5d and 4f

As a result until and unless the 4f orbital is halfly filled or fully filled the electron will not enter the d orbital

I hope this helps ( ╹▽╹ )
