the general electronic configuration of p block element is ns2np1-6. but the electronic configuration of gallium ends with 4s2 3d10 4p1. here d is coming between s and p which is not correct as per the general equation.pls tell me how is it possible.very urgent​

Answer:

according to Aufbau principle, the electron first enters into lower energy orbital. the energy of the orbital is measured with (n+l) values.

(n+l) value of 4S orbital = 4+0 =4

n+l value of 3d orbital = 3+2 =5

(n+l) value of 4p orbital = 4+1 =5

3d, 4p orbitals have same energy, the the electron enters into the orbital which one has low n value. Due to this the electron enters into 3d before 4p orbital.
