The general formulla of three compounds A, B and C is CnH2n and B has highest boiling point and C has lowest boiling point.

a) which of these has the maximum no. Of carbon atoms? Give reason

All the compounds are the straight Carbon chain.
It is given that the B has highest boiling point and C has the lowest boiling point.

From this information we can conclude that B has maximum number of Carbon chain because the longer the Carbon chain, greater will be surface area, then greater will be the Vanderwall's force which results in the maximum boiling point of the compound.
