The ghost of Helen is indeed very impressive. Unlike other ghosts whose chief purpose is to scare human beings with their macabre deeds, ghost of Helen was far from this ghoulish business. On the contrary she was an active member of Writer’s Inspiration Bureau dedicated to the cause of helping aspiring writers. Helen was a very civilized ghost as in spite of being cross she did not harm Hallock in any manner. She took her revenge in a way that really had no intention of harming him. So these two aspects impress the readers a lot.
