Given :  number of Burgers and Pastries sold by each of the three

shopkeepers D, E, and F

To Find :  Data for Each each shopkeeper

Solution:

Let say burgers sold by D  = B

The number of pastries sold by F is 250 more than the  number of burgers sold by D.

The number of pastries sold by F  = 250 + B

burgers sold by E is 20% more than that  of D

The number of burgers sold by E  = B + (20/100)B = 1.2B

the ratio of pastries sold by D to the number of burgers sold by E

Pastries Sold by D  =  (7/6) 1.2B  =  1.4B

The number of burgers sold by F is 1050

The  total number of paistries sold by all the three shopkeepers is 2700.

pastries sold by F  = 250 + B

Pastries Sold by D = 1.4B

=> Pastries Sold by E = 2700  -  ( 250 + B + 1.4B)   =  2450  - 2.4B

burgers sold by E  = 1.2B

Total number of items sold by E is 1550

2450  - 2.4B+ 1.2B = 1550

=> -1.2B = 900

=> B = 750

burgers sold by D  = B  = 750

burgers sold by E = 1.2B  = 900

number of burgers sold by F is 1050

pastries sold by F  = 250 + B = 1000

Pastries Sold by D  = 1.4B  = 1050

Pastries Sold by E  = 2450  - 2.4B =  650
