So, length of each side of the shaded square = 10 cm - (2 cm + 2 cm)
= 10 cm - 4 cm
= 6 cm
So, length of each side of the shaded square is 6 cm
Then,
The area of the square = Side*Side
⇒ 6*6
= 36 sq cm
Hence, the area of the shaded square is 36 sq cm.
